Frequently Asked Questions
What is HaBilNet all about?
Are there any costs for using the services of HaBilNet?
No, there are no costs associated with the use of any HaBilNet service, regardless through which channel. Depending on the future volume of consultation requests, however, we may start to ask you to donate to UNICEF if you want to use our consultation service.
How do I gain access to HaBilNet's personal consultation service?
Please use the Consultation contact form, explaining who you are and why you would like to speak to a HaBilNet consultant. We need to have your full name, your preferred term of address, the country where you live, your telephone number and your email address. Please also indicate what your preferred medium for a conversation would be. We will get back to you as soon as we can, but please bear with us, it may take up to 3 weeks.
Will the HaBilNet website be available in languages other than English, Dutch, French and German?
As HaBilNet grows, more languages are planned. Stay tuned!
Is all the information on each language version of the HaBilNet website the same?
No, unfortunately it isn't. The basic structure of the website is the same for all languages, as are the mission statement, the terms of service, the privacy policy, the contact forms, the FAQs, and basic member information. However, articles and links to other websites as well as other resources may be available in only a single language. So if you can read more than one of the website languages, it may be useful to browse another language version. Unfortunately, typically, much of the information is available only in English. We do our best, though, to provide information in all the HaBilNet website languages.
Can I become a member of HaBilNet?
Read about it here.
Can I apply for a (small) HaBilNet grant?
Yes you can, but only between January 15-20, between April 15-20, or between August 15-20. Requests received outside these periods will not be considered. If you have an idea for an activity or project that you think falls within HaBilNet's area of interest, please write an email to info@habilnet.org with your name, email address, a short statement as to what sort of grant you are seeking and why, and your CV. We will get back to you as soon as we can about any further steps, but please bear with us, it may take up to 3 weeks.
